We have it all...

"By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life..."
2 Peter 1:3, NLT

God has given us everything......so why do we feel so inadequate? Because we don't believe! We don't believe that we have the power that God has given us, we see ourselves as weak. The enemy knows this and sends out his demons to beat us up and harass us.....temptation, guilt, shame, condemnation, these things are not from God.
So let's all start believing in what God has given us through Jesus and resisting the devil when faced with his schemes against us. Let's start believing in love, encouragement, patients, understanding. Let's all stop beating ourselves up when we give in to temptation but, instead forget about it and move on in God's understanding and strength so that we might stand up to temptation the next time....and resist!!!

So let's not give up doing what is good and healthy...we will receive a blessing.

We all need to remember to keep putting on our full armor of God (Eph. 6:10-17) because things are not as they seem to the naked eye. There is a spiritual battle going on all around us. Satan will try to get in the way of where God wants you to be. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy, he tempts, lies and deceives, he devours, controls and accuses. Satan never quits but you have the authority over him, God has give you all authority. Resist and the devil will flee. Be on guard and let God do the work. God says "I will contend with the one who contends with you". Be strong...God will never leave you. For if my God is with me then whom than shall I fear?

My body is weak, I give in to temptation very easily. I am working on not eating something just because it is there and it "looks good". I'm trying to make healthy choices but not denying myself either.....if I really want to have something I can then focus on having a small portion and not the whole thing.....and being satisfied with that. I also try to work it into my daily allowance of calories. God is faithful and will always be there to give you strength when you call on Him.

Something new...

God wants to do new things in you! Don't look back at all the failures and dissapointments in your life only look to HIM for something new. He will make a way, a path, a new road to go down. Better than ever before!! Look to God for your future.

Mean People...

This morning I commented on a blog about how to deal with "mean people".  I had no idea I was going to have an encounter with a "mean person" today.   I was really put to the test though!  What does this mean???  How did I handle it???  I mainly walked away and did not talk to her, then talked to 2 of her supervisors about what she is doing and saying to hurt me and others (in tears of course).  This is a person who needs to have complete control over everything that is happening around her.  Why?? Only God knows.  Maybe she is hurting inside.  Maybe she doesn't realize what she is doing??  Only God knows.  How much better am I being by talking to others about her and what she is doing??  

Luke 6:27 Says...Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. I thought about this verse all the way home.  I can pray for her....that is something I can do!  Hurt people need to be healed! Only the power of God can heal. And we need to remember our real enemy isn't the people who hurt us, but Satan, who uses those people against us.

Who are we really fighting against?

I used to tell myself "This is the way God made me".  Now I believe this is not entirely true.  God did make me creative, smart, beautiful,compassionate, loving, caring....God did not make me fat. God did put a lot of wonderful food  on the earth for me to fuel my body and enjoy in moderation but it was the enemy who tempts me to eat for so many different reasons than necessary.......comfort, sadness, boredom, loneliness, fun, celebrating....you name it.....and thus putting unnecessary extra pounds on this body that God entrusted to me.

Satan will try to get in your way daily to keep you away from where God wants you to be.
