Weight loss is a battle that we can not win on our own. We must have someone on our side to help fight the battle. God is on our side......He is there to help us. He is there to help us when we need it most...He never leaves us.

"For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. "

Philippians 2:13, NLT

God is on our side....He wants what is best for us. We make bad choices because we are tempted and deceived by satan. We give in because we have a sinful nature (from satan) and free will (from God) to make our own choices. God does not want us to be puppets, he wants us to make our own choices. Where we fail is when we are tempted we rely on our own self to make the choice instead of going to God about everything. God will show us the way if we seek Him!!

He planned good for us....

Ephesians 2:10, NLT

God did not plan for us to struggle with food and weight issues. These things are a scheme of the enemy.... to tempt us unmercifully until we give in and over indulge in the sinful pleasures of food.... and then to condemn us for giving in and over eating making us feel even worse about ourselves.
God is loving and forgiving and would never plan such destruction in our lives. We need to learn to forgive for the momentary lapse of indulgence and move on in our lives to seek what is good and healthy.

We have it all...

God has given us everything......so why do we feel so inadequate? Because we don't believe! We don't believe that we have the power that God has given us, we see ourselves as weak. The enemy knows this and sends out his demons to beat us up and harass us.....temptation, guilt, shame, condemnation, these things are not from God.
So let's all start believing in what God has given us through Jesus and resisting the devil when faced with his schemes against us. Let's start believing in love, encouragement, patients, understanding. Let's all stop beating ourselves up when we give in to temptation but, instead forget about it and move on in God's understanding and strength so that we might stand up to temptation the next time....and resist!!!

So let's not give up doing what is good and healthy...we will receive a blessing.

We all need to remember to keep putting on our full armor of God (Eph. 6:10-17) because things are not as they seem to the naked eye. There is a spiritual battle going on all around us. Satan will try to get in the way of where God wants you to be. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy, he tempts, lies and deceives, he devours, controls and accuses. Satan never quits but you have the authority over him, God has give you all authority. Resist and the devil will flee. Be on guard and let God do the work. God says "I will contend with the one who contends with you". Be strong...God will never leave you. For if my God is with me then whom than shall I fear?

We all have bad days and we need to call upon the Lord with our request, our desires, our hurts, He cares for us and for every little thing in our lives!
